Ridgeway was an agency that had been on my radar for a while, and I'd often checked out the website and social channels.

It came across as an honest and direct company, a fun and sociable place to work, which I loved.

I could tell right away that the company would be a good cultural fit for me so I waited for a suitable role that fit my skillset - when the vacancy for a Support Executive came up I jumped on it!

The interview process

The interview process immediately reinforced the fact that Ridgeway was right for me. Unlike some interviews, where they do their best to make you feel as intimidated and nervous as possible, Sarah (Support Manager) and Simon (Director) were friendly and honest, yet professional. The interview was informal and very much a two-way process, drawing out my strengths, interests, and skills but also gave me the unique opportunity to learn what the company was like in a completely honest way.

The interview process immediately reinforced the fact that Ridgeway was right for me.

After the interview, Sarah showed me around the office, my desk, and immediately introduced me to the rest of the Support team which made me realise she valued their input and wanted to ensure they agreed that I would be a good fit. I liked this approach as it enabled me to visualise what it would be like to part of the company and get an idea of what the team was like.

Obviously, the interview went well as I was offered the role (which I happily accepted, at lightning speed!)

My first weeks

The first few weeks were a whirlwind, packed with training and introductions.

What I loved was that I was given a lot of responsibility quickly - I wasn't left to feel like a spare part but almost immediately I was a valuable member of the team, actively supporting our clients.

Building strong relationships with our clients and working as an extension of their team is both rewarding and challenging.

A lot of my day is spent communicating with clients, via email and telephone, and I help and assist them with a range of queries. One of the things I love the most about my role is that I get to work with a variety of different types of businesses and websites, from B2C to B2B, from large global brands such as HMV and Twinings to smaller family run businesses such as Atkinsons.

In my first few months at Ridgeway, what I have really noticed and appreciated is just how much the company supports and values its employees, from the thorough training, to free beer, to the many social events and activities.

I'm really looking forward to a long and varied career at Ridgeway, and I know that I will be looked after and that there is room for my career to develop and progress in the future.
