We’re pleased to announce that the ecommerce site that we created for hmv has been named “Site of the Month” by Kentico for June.
Following on from the success of Kentico Site of the Year for Twinings, Ridgeway officially launched the Kentico Ecommerce Accelerator to speed up the development of ecommerce sites, something that hmv were very interested in to build their site with more functionality in less time.
The site, store.hmv.com, has won Site of the Month despite being only in the first phase of development. The basic ecommerce site offers CD, vinyl, DVD and Blu-ray, with the ability for entertainment fans to pre-order music and films. Ridgeway have worked with the Kentico solution and used their leading development skills to bolster the ecommerce functionality, enabling the site to offer discounting in line with the in-store experience, such as 2 for £20, and much more.
The ultimate aim is to bring a smooth multi-channel customer experience.
The solution is also fully integrated with fulfilment and product data systems through APIs. Customers can make secure payments from major debit and credit cards, as well as PayPal and V.Me, via WorldPay at the checkout, whilst still collecting loyalty rewards through purehmv points. It is optimised for search engines and responsively designed for the mobile market.
The ultimate aim is to bring a smooth multi-channel customer experience. The next phases of the site look to go much further in creating that unique feeling of stepping into the hmv store, but in a digital world.
