London and Oxford web agency, Ridgeway, have designed and developed a cutting edge website for global high technology business, Oxford Instruments.
Using the latest web design techniques, the website is designed to deliver qualified sales and support leads and provide the optimum user experience on both desktop and mobile devices.
Built on Kentico’s EMS platform, the website was conceived in order to allow all of the businesses within the Oxford Instruments group to present personalised content and targeted information to website visitors. The website monitors visitor location, browsing behaviour and any interactions with specific page elements in order to dynamically update key information being displayed. The website then directs qualified enquiries to the relevant sales team.
Using responsive design, the website also adapts its layout dynamically according to the device and screen resolution being used. This allows Oxford Instruments’ content editors to manage a single set of website content knowing that the website will customise how this is presented to best suit each and every website visitor.
I am delighted with the work Ridgeway has done – we have a site to be proud of, delivered on time and to budget.
These techniques, combined with extensive work undertaken to define user journeys through the website, mean Oxford Instruments have become one of the first adopters of such approaches not only in their industry sector, but also more generally across the web.
All of the strategic, design and development work for the website was carried out by the Ridgeway’s in-house team, working closely with Oxford Instruments who have now taken over the day-to-day running of the website. Further releases of the site in the German, Japanese and Chinese languages are scheduled over the next few months.
Lynn Shepherd, Group Director of Communications at Oxford Instruments said: “A high technology business should promote itself through a high-tech website, and with the launch of its latest website Oxford Instruments now has the ideal showcase for its products and services. I am delighted with the work Ridgeway has done – we have a site to be proud of, delivered on time and to budget.”
Simon Lassam, Managing Director at Ridgeway, said: “To get the Oxford Instruments website right, we had to really analyse what the group’s businesses needed, what users needed and how they were interacting with the website. It’s been a fascinating 8 month journey that has seen the team get under the skin of Oxford Instruments as a business and apply what we learned in some genuinely innovative ways. We’re proud of what we’ve achieved and we’re delighted that Oxford Instruments are too.”
