Ridgeway have successfully redesigned the Royal Academy of Engineering’s website.

The combination of an energetic new design, simplified layout and navigation and integration with the Academy’s customer relationship management platform, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, provides an enhanced experience for both the Academy’s Fellowship and the website’s users.

The Royal Academy’s site provides its many audiences with regularly updated content and to provide Fellows with an online portal where tasks relating to the running of the Academy can be administered.  The new solution replaces a number of solutions which were previously fulfilling this purpose and extends their capabilities significantly through a single website and portal on the Kentico CMS platform.

Ridgeway created a seamless process for nomination, seconding and comments all in one place, online, that also fed through to the Microsoft Dynamics CRM system for the administrators to track and manage.

Events are also a major source of information sharing and revenue for The Academy. The website is the best place to find out all the latest events and now allows attendees register and even pay online through SagePay.

Aesthetically, the new site employs a modern, flat design which provides the Academy with a visually captivating and clean user interface.

It was also designed ‘mobile first’, meaning the site’s clarity and usability are maintained across all devices. The Ridgeway team also carried out extensive work to improve the information architecture on the site, which, in conjunction with the interface redesign and mobile optimisation, provides a site that is more easily navigable and has a more engaging user experience, all in keeping with the Academy’s brand guidelines.

The website was launched in summer 2014 and can be found at www.raeng.org.uk.

Simon Lassam, Managing Director of Ridgeway said: “We’re delighted to have launched the Royal Academy of Engineering’s new website. Our team worked to ensure the Academy’s site offers its users both an easily navigable site and a compelling experience.
