Helen joined Ridgeway in June 2019, hear all about her motivations for joining and her plans for the future.
So Helen, what caught your eye about Ridgeway?
Having worked in Oxfordshire for a number of years I was already aware of Ridgeway so when I found out they were recruiting for an HR and Recruitment Manager I immediately got in touch. I knew I wanted to work for a small to medium sized company so I could make an impact and I like working in the digital industry so Ridgeway seemed like the perfect fit.
Rufus, a loved member of the Ridgeway Team
When I arrived for my interview there was a car parking space reserved with my name on and I was greeted in such a warm and friendly way I instantly felt at home. I loved the energy there was around the office, everyone was busy but happy which is a good sign.
The Witney town centre location was also a definite plus for me, a great way to spend a lunch break. I must admit though it was meeting Rufus that sealed the deal for me, his fury face and floppy ears, I was sold, I wanted to join the Ridgeway team!
What do you hope to achieve over the coming months?
Ridgeway is a growing agency that has expanded over the last five years. With this growth there is a need for some more formal processes, so I am looking forward to reviewing our performance review process and utilising our HR system effectively. I will be working closely with the Senior Management Team to understand how we can support the culture of the agency to drive the business forward, develop our exiting talent and recruit lots more talent to the business!
What do you think makes Ridgeway different?
With a team of about 45 people Ridgeway is a fairly small business but it doesn’t feel small due to the high-profile brands we work with. Krispy Kreme, Twinings, YO!, hmv and De Beers Group are just some of the clients we support and who wouldn’t want to work with brands like that?
It is the people at Ridgeway that stand out, every single individual is an expert at what they do and committed to doing the best thing for the client. People are engaged and genuinely care about each other, the clients and the service.
I love the fact that Ridgeway has an active social calendar which is driven by our Values Team. I believe spending time with colleagues outside of work strengthens working relationships inside the office which ultimately leads to more productive teams. In just the short amount of time I have been here I have flexed by knowledge at a pub quiz, demonstrated my golfing skills by winning crazy golf and tested the cuisine at several local eateries!
My golfing victory!
