Vikki joined the Ridgeway team in January 2017. Hear all about her motivations for joining, find out what it’s like behind the green doors, and see what skills and experience she brings with her.
So Vikki, why Ridgeway?
There were two key things that attracted me to Ridgeway. Firstly, the diverse and quality client portfolio – they recognise the extensive talent in the agency, and win clients that would normally be associated with some of the bigger London agencies. Having the opportunity to work with the likes of De Beers, Twinings, and HMV was certainly a big draw.
Secondly, it was Ridgeway’s approach. It has a well-deserved reputation for robust solutions. What excites me is that they have design integrity too; their clients comment how they really ‘get’ their brand. To me this is crucial to building a true partnership rather than being just a supplier.
In the recruitment process, I really connected with the directors who were open about their aims and goals and were interested in my take on how the online space is evolving – they’re really motivated to seek ways to meet their client’s needs. They really understand the value of strategic thinking and what it can bring to the piece.
I also liked the honest and open recruitment process; it felt very relaxed and no game-playing. I felt we had a dialogue going from the outset.
What do you hope to achieve here?
My goal here at Ridgeway is to challenge clients to really flex their digital vision so they’ll see just how much potential our solutions can have to leverage true value of their brand equity.
I’ve been lucky to work in the digital and online space for some terrific companies and brands – from the likes of the BBC and Virgin to Nokia/Symbian and latterly Oxford University Press. My goal here at Ridgeway is to challenge clients to really flex their digital vision so they’ll see just how much potential our solutions can have to leverage true value of their brand equity. This approach means they really get the best of the partnership with us both today and in the longer-term.
So, now you’re in post, what’s it like?
Well I like the vibe here, it’s fun - from the buzz of the creative and marketing crew to the quiet talent of the developers … oh and the Ridgeway penchant for collecting cool tech kit – god knows what half of it is!
Free Beer Friday is a great policy – we down tools at 5pm and acknowledge a week done well and for me it’s been a great way to get to know some of the crew better. It is a testament to the company (and the quality of the beer!) that so many stay for this session.
Ridgeway has its own peer award scheme, the monthly Roscars; even if you don’t win, any nominations for you are sent to you! A real morale booster – especially in the early days when you are peddling hard to get up to speed.
